It’s a renovated old house with a new addition, that is not wonderful but is decent. The pool and garden in the back make up for the bad design in terms of function. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished although the mattress is very firm and pillows too thick and not on the soft side, I asked for another type of pillow and was informed that they had no other option. The elevator didn’t work and I suspect this has been going on for a while as the sign seemed dirty and dusty, they should definitely give a discount when the elevator doesn’t work. My wife has sciatica and my in laws in their seventies had a rough time walking up and down the stairs. The bathroom is very functional and clean and water pressure great, but sometimes the hot water is wonderful and sometimes it goes away. Location is a great thing, but if they bothered to fix the issues it would be almost great. Seems like they own many hotels under the name Kavia and are more interested in profit than quality and service.

This property is centrally located on Calle 60, the most active street in Mérida. We stayed 30 days to explore the city and culture. The front desk staff were informative and efficient. The rooms and facilities were kept very clean by cleaning and facilities staff. Breakfast was served in the hotel, which is nice, but not included if you use Booking.com. There’s a coffee shop attached to the hotel and restaurants / retail stores in every direction. Staff at the front desk spoke various languages as well as English. Other staff spoke only Spanish which was not a problem as desk staff would communicate. Lockbox was available upon request. Daily cleaning of room. Pool was also cleaned daily but very cold. Air conditioner in room worked great. TV had about 2-3 English stations and hundreds of Spanish speaking stations.

The property yard was lush and jungle-like with nice pool to cool off on hot days. The rooms were nice & clean and the aircon was very effective. We enjoyed our stay at Maison del Embajador in the historic center of Mérida a lot, it was a perfect location. Last but not least, we want to say our special thanks to the wonderful staff members Francisco & Emiliano who took so good care of my daughters & me during our visit. It was a pleasure to get to know you, thank you for everything!

Carolina

Perfectly located. We extended our stay which was easy to manage with the hotel (3 nights in total). We heard the bar around the corner Just once and only until 9 or 10 pm. Yes, you can hear everything on the hallway but there was almost nobody so we slept really Well.

Martin

Great location near Parque Santa Lucia. The room was comfortable enough & the housekeeper was wonderful. He fixed the TV in my room so that I could access cable. Didn’t check out the pool but heard others using it.
